Today, I’m excited to announce that Trustible has raised $4.6 million in Series Seed financing led by Lookout Ventures, with participation from the Office of Eric Schmidt, Tau Ventures, Inner Loop Capital, Alumni Ventures, FoundersX, former Deloitte CIO Larry Quinlan, former Relativity CEO Mike Gamson, and former Washington DC Mayor Adrian Fenty, alongside existing investors Harlem Capital, Vamos Ventures, and JHH VC.
This new capital enables Trustible to redouble our efforts to help organizations adopt AI safely and at scale, staying true to our vision that trusted AI is better AI.
Why AI Governance Matters Now More Than Ever
“Where and how is AI being used inside of my organization? What do I do if it goes wrong? How do I know if it could go wrong? How do I measure the expected benefit of this AI versus the expected risk? Do I have any regulatory obligations?”
These are some of the common questions we hear every day from customers. This concern around risks is creating a bottleneck and slowing down AI adoption for so many organizations, particularly those operating in regulated environments.
A recent Microsoft Security study found that 91% of senior executives feel unprepared to manage AI risk, and 85% believe they lack readiness to comply with emerging regulations. Those gaps translate directly into stalled AI projects and increased organizational risks.
Moreover, trust remains a critical gap for AI adoption. A recent KPMG study surveyed over 48,000 people across 47 countries and found that 46% of people globally are willing to trust AI systems and over 70% believe regulation is needed.
When governance is done right – with trust at the center – it becomes a powerful accelerant of AI adoption.
Trustible’s customers—38% of whom are Fortune 500 companies, 62% publicly traded, and over 87% operating globally—have proven that AI governance can go hand-in-hand with rapid deployment.
One Fortune 500 customer in the consumer-goods sector doubled their AI use cases by reducing intake time from 3 weeks to just 3 hours with Trustible. A Fortune 250 financial services customer cut regulatory compliance time by 5x by automating policy mapping and minimizing manual assessments. Most of our customers use our Model Transparency Ratings to surface potential risks that influence model selection for each use case.
Put together, these powerful capabilities accelerate AI adoption by removing manual governance bottlenecks, reducing risk & compliance overhead, and enabling cross-functional teams to move from experimentation to deployment with greater speed, confidence, and transparency.
When Andrew and I published “The Trustible Story” in early 2023 when we emerged from Stealth, we made a commitment to maximize trust, reduce risk, and increase transparency for organizations developing & deploying AI. That promise is anchored by our mission to empower organizations to adopt AI safely and at scale.
Since then, we’ve helped our customers navigate significant change with both AI development and AI governance practices. New models are being released every week with declining transparency scores. New software applications are including AI in every feature feature capability with uncertain cyber and privacy risks. More stakeholders are getting involved in AI governance, potentially slowing down AI adoption. And governments on every continent are introducing AI oversight frameworks within the context of an ever-changing geopolitical landscape.
Trustible’s platform provides actionable intelligence and expert insights to turn these complex requirements into powerful capabilities that teams can execute on daily.
Here’s What This Funding Helps Unlock
Product Innovation
We’re deepening Trustible’s Actionable Intelligence capabilities – including AI features, recommendation engines, and expert taxonomies that fuse our policy and AI expertise through in-app guidance. This means faster assessments, smarter risk signals, and governance that adapts as policy evolves.
Deeper integrations into leading MLOps, GRC, and workflow tools so governance can happen where work already lives.
Team Growth
We’re expanding engineering, business development, marketing, and customer success right here in the Washington D.C. area, reinforcing our belief that the capital of policy should also be a capital of responsible-AI innovation.
Go-to-Market Scale
We’re growing our go-to-market teams to meet customer demands and invest to support customers across North America and Europe (to start) both directly and through partners.
How We’re Different
Traditional GRC platforms were built for static rules and annual audits. Privacy tools check boxes rather than guide enterprise decisions. And cybersecurity solutions fail to capture the potential benefits of systems and only focus on threats or risks. AI is evolving far too quickly for those one-size-fits-all approaches. Trustible was designed from day one for continuous, AI-first governance, and we anchor that promise in three core pillars:
Actionable Intelligence: Our platform fuses expert taxonomies, AI analysis, and recommendation engines to translate abstract policies into concrete workflows for legal, risk, and data science teams. Users receive dynamic risk guidance—“this AI system presents this specific cyber risk,” “conduct an impact assessment because you’re collecting PII for this high risk use case,” “conduct this type of bias evaluation,” “route for legal sign-off before launch”—exactly when and where it matters.

AI-Domain Expertise Baked-In: Governance for traditional IT systems isn’t enough. Our team of AI/ML and policy experts distills emerging standards (from NIST’s AI RMF to the EU AI Act and ISO 42001) into pre-built control sets and risk models tailored to foundation models, generative AI, and domain-specific ML. Customers instantly benefit from an AI governance expert out-of-the-box, without starting from a blank sheet.
Curated (and Collaborative) Workflows: Governance doesn’t need to slow down innovation. It should enable enterprises to ask the right questions to ensure you’re safeguarding stakeholder trust. But Trustible’s collaborative workflows streamline assessments and approval gates from key internal stakeholders across the AI lifecycle – from intake to pre-deployment, to continuous monitoring in production. The result? Faster releases and stronger oversight.
These capabilities allow customers to move beyond experimentation and into production at a faster pace while ensuring risks get minimized.
Expanding Our Reach & Partnerships
To keep advancing our mission, we need to broaden our reach. This means building deeper relationships and partnerships with consultancies, cloud providers, distributors, researchers, and policymakers to amplify Trustible’s platform and accelerate progress in AI governance. These partnerships will drive adoption while embedding our expertise into the industry standards our customers rely on. Over the next 18-24 months, we will:
Expand Our Customer Footprint: Our customer focus will remain on supporting global customers operating in North America and Europe, where demand for AI governance is surging.
Deepen Commercial Partner Ecosystem
Consultancies & System Integrators: Collaborate with global and boutique firms to embed Trustible into AI-transformation service lines.
Cloud & AI Platforms: Strengthen integrations with hyperscalers and best-of-breed MLOps tools (like our partner, Databricks) to unlock synergies with these platforms.
Distributors & Resellers: Launch channel programs to reach organizations that need enterprise-ready AI governance capabilities deployed quickly through trusted partners.
Support AI Governance Researchers: Partner with academia, government, standards bodies, and industry experts to publish joint research on AI governance and risk management, share real-world implementation insights to inform pragmatic policy, and release our own research to support the responsible advancement of AI technologies.
Why We Call D.C. Home
Over 80% of this round includes VCs and angel investors based in the Washington D.C. area. We’ll use this local capital to hire local talent and continue to reinforce our commitment to this region.
Being headquartered in the Washington D.C. / Northern Virginia area means we can be at the center of emerging policy and innovation. The D.C. area is the nation’s third-best city for tech – with 1,000+ startups and a 24 % rise in tech jobs since 2019—all supported by some of the highest average tech salaries in the world. It also boasts the nation’s deepest cybersecurity talent pool—roughly 3.5× the U.S. average— and the densest concentration of federally funded R&D and nearly a dozen top-ranked universities. Add anchor employers like Amazon, Palantir, Leidos, and Capital One, and you have an enormous talent pool with deep technical expertise and commitments to public good.
Our region’s strengths translate directly into an opportunity for Trustible: we can build at the intersection of policy and tech, proving that the next generation of responsible-AI leaders will come from a place that understands that governance and innovation are two sides of the same coin.
As part of this investment round, we are opening up new roles across software engineering, business development, marketing, and customer success. To apply, visit our Careers page here.
